With pleasure we INVITE you (Folk and Choral groups, orchestras, majoretteteams), (children, youth and adults groups) to participate on IV“International HALIKARNAS Folk Dance and Music festival”07 – 11 June2024 Bodrum, Turkiye.

This festival is the perfect occasion for different groups from various countries to gather together so that they could express their culture and nation through dances, music and interesting national costumes.

BODRUM is a Turkish city on the Bodrum Peninsula, stretching from Turkey’s southwest coast into the Aegean Sea. The city features twin bays with views of Bodrum Castle. This medieval fortress was built partly with stones from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, completed in the 4th century B.C. The city is also a gateway for nearby beach towns and resorts.

It is a very important settlement area in terms of history since it has been home to many civilizations dating from the mythological times. In the history of Bodrum, the historian Herodotus, the first Admiral of history, 1.Artemisia 2. As well as the famous artists such as Leachares and Shepas besides Artemisia have grown up. Homerous called the city ” Eternal Blue Land ”, where East and West ports come together with white Bodrum Houses, Gumbet, narrow streets descending to the sea and the famous Bodrum Castle. Halikarnassos meets both the climate and the natural beauties of the summer months. It is a wonderful holiday city that can be experienced also in winter months.

Once a cozy fishing village of only a few thousand people, Bodrum has experienced a renaissance in the last half century that has transformed this once-sleepy community into one of Turkey’s most popular vacation hotspots. Writers, intellectuals, artists and musicians have long called this Aegean town home, or second-home, attracting a vibrant cultural scene paralleled only by the town’s nightlife. Windswept beaches and glittering waters provide the backdrop to the perfect beach getaway.

Nowadays, Halikarnas is an open-air nightclub and one of the most important locations for nightlife in Bodrum with a capacity of 5000 guests. It is also considered to be one of the best clubs in Europe.

07June 2024

• 00 Arriving in Bodrum, hotel accommodation after the meeting with the festival representatives and free time (beach time)
• 00 – 20.00 Diner in hotel
• 00 Welcome reception with the leaders of the groups

08June 2024

• 00 – 10.00 Breakfast
• 00 – 15.00 Bodrum sightseeing with organized local tour guides (optional) or free time in the beach
• 30 – 18.30 Diner in hotel
• 30 Ensemble parade
• 00 Official festival evening in the square of the city
• Welcome Speech
• Open air performance

09 June 2024

• 00 – 10.00 Breakfast
• 00 – 18.00 Visiting Municipality of the city and reception at the Mayor of the city with representatives and leaders of each group.
• 30 – 18.30 Diner in hotel
• 00 Second festival evening in the square of the city (open air performance on a professional stage)

10 June 2024

• 00 – 10.00 Breakfast
• 30 – 12.00 Daily boat excursion in the blue waters  with stop overs for swimming and lunch on the boat at the Bodrum Peninsula or Visiting Kos island (optional)
• 00 – 20.00 Diner in hotel
• 00 Closing ceremony of the festival – certificates and presents for ensembles by organizer, exchange presents between leaders of ensembles and final party with all participants, discotheque with all the festival participants

General rules for participation:

• In the festival can participate folklore groups, orchestras, majorettes, modern dance groups, choirs and music bands from all over the world.
• Non-competitive sample of traditional and modern dances, choral groups, majorette teams, orchestras, brass bands festival.
• Ensemble should have prepared at least 2 dances, 08-12 minutes each with USB or orchestra.
• Folklore groups should take a flag of their country and minimum 5 gifts for the municipality visits.
• Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form. All filled in and signed applications will mean acceptance of the terms laid by the present regulation.
• The number of the participants are limited (only 3 groups from each country).
• Groups have tosend us short CV and 3 photos of the group by e-mail.
• Until 10th of May 2024 each group should send the list of participants, name/surname, sex, date of birth and passport number.
• Folklore groups should have there own transport for arrival and departure.

Participation Fee:

• 125 Euro for 3 FB per person ( 3 nights with 3 meals per day )
• 155 Euro for 4 FB per person ( 4 nights with 3 meals per day )

It covers hotel accommodation (leaders and drivers in 2 double rooms and others in triple and quadruple rooms) with 3 meals per day inBasic category HOTELS in Bodrum, Turkey.

• 135 Euro for 3 full board service per person (3 nights 4 days)
• 169 Euro for 4 full board service per person (4 nights 5 days)

It covers hotel accommodation (leaders and drivers in 2 double rooms and others in triple and quadruple rooms) with  3 meals per day in Standard category HOTELS in  Bodrum, Turkey

• Addition day can be booked for 30-45euro/person/day depending on hotel category
• Groups of 25 persons: One group leader free of charge!

Participation Fee Includes:

• Participation in the festival concerts,
• Professional sound, stage and light equipment.
• Accommodation in 3* Hotels (3-4 bedded rooms, supplement for a double room is 7€/person/day, supplement for single room is double price),
• Half Board hotel accommodation

• Welcome cocktails with the leaders of the groups
• Souvenir and gift for each group
• Certificate for attendance
• Drinks during the performance

Participation Fee does not include:

• Transport (for arrival and departure)
• Optional Boat Tour Programs
• Insurance
• City tax
• What is not specified in the above mentioned “the fee includes”

Invitation letter will be provided if needed  

Any group willing to participate must submit an Application form.  
Approved groups pay in advance a 10% guarantee fee, which is to be deducted at the final payment.

Next payment of 20% for booking of accommodation needs to be sent to the organizer.

Rest of the sum will be paid before the beginning of the festival or upon arrival regarding the permission and agreement with organizers.
