Thassos – the greenest Greek island is known for its rows of olive groves and pine forests in the mountains. That is why it is called “floating forest”. Thassos is an island in the northern Aegean. Ever since the ancient times, Thassos was famous for its gold mines and for its high quality marble stone. Widely known for its clean beaches, hospitality, delicious wine and excellent honey. The capital Limenas (Thassos), is also the largest trading port and center.
Kavala is a city in northern Greece, the principal seaport of eastern Macedonia. It is situated on the Bay of Kavala, across from the island of Thassos . Kavala is located on the Egnatia motorway and is a one and a half-hour drive to Thessaloniki.
