Belgrade – The capital and largest city of Serbia with 2.800.000 residents. The city lies at the confluence of two rivers, the Danube and the Sava, the crossroad of Western and Eastern culture. The city of Belgrade has a very turbulent history and it is one of the oldest cities in Europe. It is not only the administrative center of government institutions, but it is also the center of tourism, commerce, industry, transport and economy, culture, science and education. Belgrade is also well known for its architectural heritage: Belgrade Fortress and Kalemegdan, and many other cultural monuments and treasures, archaeological sites and remains of developed civilizations as well as prehistoric remains. Belgrade was the host of several major sporting events, and clubs from Belgrade were crowned as European and World champions in several sports. Belgrade is well known for its music events, clubbing and the night life which is recognized globally as one of the best in the whole world.
