The organizer of the festival is Cultural Art Society “Pletenka” (“Braid”).
There is kind of beauty one can never get enough of. It relaxes you, makes you feel at peace, attracts and enchants you.
Exotic sceneries are not necessarily far and inaccessible. In the heart of the Adriatic coast of Montenegro there is a town called Budva waiting for you and a holiday of your dreams may come true.
Budva is the metropolis of Montenegrin tourism thanks to the great number of beaches and hotels that make this a most desirable tourist destination. The Budva coast is 21 km long. It is among the most beautiful coasts in the world and its beauty will not leave you indifferent.
All you have to do is to decide and there are as many as 35 beautiful sandy beaches (8 beaches are marked with blue flags – a prestigious international award for quality and high standards of service at the beaches). There are the clean and safe sea and beaches along which you can swim as long as you feel like it.
Apart from its natural beauty (its bay islands and beaches) Budva is rich in historic monuments as well.
Budva Old Town lies on a small peninsula and represents a treasure chest of culture heritage. Crossed with narrow streets and squares are famous buildings, the Church Sv. Trojica, housing the tomb of the exquisite writer Stjepan Mitrov Ljubisa, the Churches of Sv. Ivan, Sv. Bogorodica and Sv. Sava. A visit to the walls of the Old Town is a must. You will experience the ancient spirit and charm of the renaissance period in Budva. In the Stari Grad (Old town) you can also visit many shops, cafés, restaurants and galleries. Monasteries Stanjevici, Podostrog, Rezevici and Gradiste are important historic and religious monuments of Budva.
Purpose of the Festival
The main purpose of this festival is to bring different cultures closer through songs, dances, music and interesting national costumes. The main idea of the organizers is to bring to the festival different choirs, folklore and modern dance groups from different countries and different parts of the world and to give them the exclusive opportunity to display their artistry and creativity on the stage.
The participants will have the opportunity to meet new people, establish new friendships and learn about different cultures and traditions.
The idea of the festival is to develop communication and dialogue between diverse cultures, by nurturing tradition as well as modern dance styles, thus combining the traditional and the modern in a timeline that will take the spectators from history to modern times.
